Welcome to COURSES IN THE WORKS web page of Water Management Specialists

These courses are in the development and approval process in conjunction with the TCEQ RG-373 requirements.

** UNTIL WMS HAS AN APPROVAL CODE ON FILE FROM THE TCEQ, THESE COURSE WILL NOT BE RUN.

Topic

Fundamentals of Hydraulics - A comprehensive review of the hydraulic process.  This workshop starts with the determining safe flow rate and walks the student through the procedural steps to solve the hydraulic questions of  "Actual Head Pressure", "Design Pressure", etc.  This workshop will also serve as a hydraulic review for those students sitting for the irrigation exam.

Fundamentals of Design - A comprehensive review of the design process.  This workshop starts with a interpreting a basis site analysis, topographical data, determining flow capacities, backflow issues, and then selecting appropriate heads to operate within the calculated water pressures.  This information will then be translated into a functioning irrigation design utilizing spray, rotor, and drip applications.  The use of Matched Precipitation Rates will be used.                  TCEQ Approved 0171

Designing with a Specification Manual - A comprehensive review process of designing a spray, rotor, and drip system utilizing the specifications from field notes and the site assessment.  This information will then utilizing the  specifications from a manufacturer specification manual.  This will include all the components, such as backflow, vales, controllers, etc.

MPR....What it is and how to design with it? - A comprehensive review of the concept of Matched Precipitation Rate (MPR) in both spray and rotor applications.  This workshop will focus on the direct correlation of design and product performance as it relates to the correct specification and application of the product.  The "Cause and Effect" of pressure, volume, distance, precipitation rate, and Distribution Uniformity (D.U.) will be discussed.   TCEQ Approved 1185

No Course will be offered for TCEQ credit until it has been approved in writing and a course code is assigned.
