The test format is a Scantron (TM) type of testing.

Design Review

This track is dedicated to the review of the design process. It will focus on the design techniques and skills necessary to answer multiple questions on many design problems. This does not include actually designing a stand alone design, but rather on questions on the design process itself. (It is assumed you have already been tested and have passed the performance based test on a physical design via your basic training course provider.)

This workshop follows the format of lecture and student participation in a 75 question test representative of the exam. The workshop will start with the review process of the following items:

	Product spacing and head placement
	Drip design
	Rotor head usage and nozzle selection
	Spray head selection using MPR nozzles
	Designing to non- uniform spaces
	Micro climates and zoning
	Soil, plant, and water relationships
	Water Conservation
	Irrigation scheduling
	Elevation contours
	Measuring with "architect" and "engineer" scales
	Plot plan reading
	Looped mains
	Low water pressures designs
	Pressure regulation devices and design techniques
	Head selection
	Efficient method of optimum head spacing
	Balanced and efficient zoning
	Backflow selection and placement
	When and how to correctly utilize a looped main
	Progressive pipe sizing of laterals and main lines
	Selection and sizing of control valves

The morning will be spent reviewing the above items. After lunch, the remaining time will be spent on our multiple choice test. It will not only provide you with a solid review of the design process, but will expose you to the types of questions that can be asked on a design utilizing multiple choice questions.

The cost for this review is $160.00 in a class room setting. Each review is offered in various cities.

Hydraulics Review

This workshop is a comprehensive review of all aspects of hydraulics. It follow the format of lectures and student participation in a provided workbook. The morning will be spend on reviewing the following topics:

	Correct methods of sizing the water meter (5)
	Correct method of sizing the valves
	Correct method of determining the type of backflow device
	Correct method of sizing the backflow device
	Progressive pipe sizing
	Calculating friction loss in looped mains
	Using the TCEQ charts
	Hydraulic calculations
	Water tower calculations
	Elevation contours
	Hydraulic calculations with elevation changes
	Pressure regulation devices

After lunch, a comprehensive 35 question hydraulics problem representative of the hydraulics exam will completed. This section will require the students to resolve a multitude of hydraulics problems such as:

	Actual head pressure (with and without elevation changes)
	Design pressure (with and without elevation changes)
	Pressure losses to specific head
	Velocity at a specific location
	Friction losses through a looped main (with and without elevation changes)
	Friction losses through multiple valves and components

The cost for this review is $160.00 and is offered in various cities.

COMPREHENSIVE CORRESPONDENCE COURSE REVIEW

(For the Irrigation Licensure Program)

This style of review allows the student to study at their own pace and in the convenience of their own home. The correspondence course uses the TCEQ authorized and approved training manual "Basic Irrigation Systems and Design". This correspondence course encompasses the following information:

	Product spacing and head placement
	Drip design
	Rotor head usage and nozzle selection
	Spray head selection using MPR nozzles
	Designing to non- uniform spaces
	Micro climates and zoning
	Soil, plant, and water relationships
	Water Conservation
	Irrigation scheduling
	Elevation contours
	Calculating slopes
	Measuring with "architect" and "engineer" scales
	Plot plan reading
	Looped mains
	Low water pressures designs
	Pressure regulation devices and design techniques

This correspondence course provides you with a compilation of 150 questions that address these topics. Each question has the answers as well as the page or pages of where the information can be located in the training manual. In addition, e-mail and telephone support are also available.

The cost for this Comprehensive Correspondence Course Review is $225 and includes the Training Manual, shipping and handling, and e-mail and telephone support.

IRRIGATION TECHNICIAN

WMS offers a four (4) hour review for the TCEQ Irrigation Technician Licensure program.

This is a solid review for those individuals who have previously sat for the Irrigation Technician test. It will cover the following topics:

	Overview of the Laws
	Comprehensive review of the five approved backflow devices and their respective applications
	Review of key components of an irrigation system and the applications of the component
	Review of head placement
	Hydraulics and pipe sizing review
	Generation of an ET based irrigation schedule
	Generation of LQDU (Lower Quarter Distribution Uniformity) calculation for an irrigation audit
	Review of the key requirements for the "Irrigation Walk Through"

This review can be taught in English or in Spanish. In addition, this review can be customized.
